Being a little adventurous, this place fascinated me a lot. Let me walk you through this beautiful journey with birds and animals at Green Planet located at City walk, Dubai. It has a very captivating indoor simulated rainforest which is definitely a visual treat for nature lovers. The expert staff at the facility were informative, patient and happy to answer endless questions from the visitors.

This venue is segregated into four levels which houses wide species of exotic flora and fauna. As you walk through, there is a an indoor waterfall connected to an artificial tall tree wrapped with vines in the middle of the premise, creating a habitat for the wildlife habitants. The journey begins with the flooded rainforest where you’ll find unique amphibian and marine animals like fishes, tortoises and stingrays which are typically found underwater.

From here, one can take the wooden bridges for the same to reach the forest floor. On this level, one encounters with a large number of birds such as parrots and macaws, bees and colourful butterflies. This floor permits an close-up view of the frogs, spiders, lizards, vipers, iguana, panther chameleon and a host of other species. We even observed a sloth hanging from branches when my husband struck me funny “Hey Sruthi, look at you, there, hanging from the branches”.

On the floor above, using a staircase one can land on the midstory floor and spot the vibrant South American toucans, parakeets, and shy nocturnal porcupines. And the last level is the canopy of the Green Planet which hosts various other birds like bats, monkeys and insects, among which the leaf-cutting ants are exposed to view. This Planet is also offering its visitors the chance to experience the day-to-day activities of the nocturnal rainforest animals when darkness falls. Nocturnal animals are those that become active during the night and sleep during the day. They will experience twelve hours of daylight and twelve hours of darkness but just at the opposite time of what it actually is outside. The Green planet operators are well-trained and have full control over these day and night cycles. One can witness slow loris, lace monitor, Burmese pythons, the wallabies, the laughing kookaburra, nine adult Carpet pythons and few others here.

The Green Planet, green green everywhere ! a living museum is an extraordinary place to experience a rainforest with tropical life for both adults and kids. Never miss out the opportunity if you get to visit here. Its totally worth it!
